Suzana
Gossett, born in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, began ballroom
dance lessons in high
school. SHe competed in American Rhythm and American Smooth as a junior for one year. With
the excitement of success
and the love of dance,
she continued her training
and passed her first
teacher's exam in 1986.
As a professional
teacher and competitor she has competed in many events across the country
in which she has been awarded with several Regional and National Top Teacher
Awards. Suzana holds many professional dance titles including National American Rhythm Champion. Suzana owned and operated her own dance studio from 1989 - 1998. She
also organized a regional dance competition, from 1988 - 1998, called the Great Lakes DanceSport Championship.
Suzana is certified in both American and International styles of dance, holding her Ballroom and Latin certification with N.A.D.T.A. (North American Dance Teachers Association). Suzana
is also certified as an Adjudicator for Dancesport Competitions, and has
been a National Coach for 16 years, training staff and students in numerous
states.
Currently Suzana is an independent Dancesport professional who organizes an annual Ballroom and Latin dance show called Mardi Gras Showcase held
every February. (Please see sidebar link) Also coaching competitors,
holds group classes and workshops. gives technique and styling lessons,
and adjudicates in both International and American styles.
